HB2680/SB3205 - Would create Ombudsman’s Office for condo associations and would use existing education fund to fulfill education requirements to condo board members on condo law and their fiduciary duties in order to reduce conflicts and related costs
HB2286/SB2493 - Would reduce excessive spending on association attorney fees, reduce billing errors, and encourage savings by sending simple form notices instead of costly attorney letters.
HB2701/SB3204 - Would prohibit retaliatory actions against unit owner, board member, managing agent, resident manager, or association employee who acts lawfully to prevent or stop a violation of any law, ordinance, rule, regulation, or code that impacts the association.
SB2404 - Would reform voting procedures in condo associations by eliminating proxy voting, requiring mandatory mail and electronic voting options, and ensuring the provision of paper ballots for board member elections.
HB1745 - Enhances governance and dispute resolution in homeowner associations through the establishment of a dedicated ombudsman's office, accompanied by educational requirements for association board members and necessary legal and financial provisions to support these initiatives.
HB2067 - Modifies the proxy voting process in condominium associations, potentially increasing transparency, accountability, and participation in association governance.
HB2088 - Strengthens the rights and protections of condominium renters, ensures better governance of condominium associations, and provides a mechanism for oversight and accountability through the establishment of the Task Force and subsequent reporting to the Legislature.
BAD BILL HB2314 - Would allow a condo board member or resident manager to sue an individual condo owner for harassment.
